Knowledge Knolling
The Skirmish got off to a bad start , the initiative not grabbed , the enemy got in a shot at the Captain; I was reminded though in round 2 that I can spend the luck the Captain has to keep him in the game. So into round two and whilst we were on the back foot and the Gunslingers has both the advantage and the cover the crew had both the terrain and bot to to get to the centre of the table before round 3 ended.

Shots were traded and the message delivered at the start of round 4 the Gunslingers were pushing their advantage but cover and luck rolled out with one of their number down they pushed back despite the data packet being delivered to the comms array they continued the fight for a couple more rounds before quitting the field and leaving my crew to round up the loot and get back for post battle round up.

Finally putting pencil to paper , dice to table, minis to terrain , #Solosept has provided me impetus to get games off the shelves, and minis I have painted into gameplay. I am now two games of my planned deployed, experienced, played. Theres a lot of nuance to be found in Five Parsecs but the best gift it has given me is the opportunity to explore a narrative world built for a Solo tabletop gamer this feels a game I could come back to from time to time just to see how The Crew of "Cant Park Here" will get on.
Five Parsecs From Home is a Solo Wargaming experience by Ivan Sorenson and published by Modiphius. It provides a rule system for the creation of a "Crew" allowing for the usual mix of species and machines a Space Ship for the Crew to move between planets and a Series of well constructured tables and explanations to build out a reason to put your Minis on the table and start rolling dice and claiming creds and experience. The battle system is fast and simple quickly resolving outcomes and allowing for thoughtful use of terrain and campaign.
