Knowledge Knolling
This is one of two publications from Chris of LootTheRoom that I have bookmarked for Soloseptember. Whilst technically a Journalling game in terms of entries are responses to prompts based on cards pulled form a deck; the rule book encourages you to record an audio or video log as an alternative; which in the era of TikTok feels like a perfect opportunity for content creation. Other than the book you will ideally want for a WoodenBlock tower, because the other term is a trademark protected by the most avid of tradmark protectors so we dont mention that here. You will also need a Deck of Cards, a D6, and some tokens. The tower will represent the state of your ship and the cards the events that will occur each day. Every round in the game represents a Day of activity, roll the dice, draw the cards, check the book to see what happened. Maybe pull blocks from the tower, maybe collect items to restart the beacon and possibly restart the engines of your disabled ship. If that was not enough you have a murderous alien creature that wants into your ship and to muck up your day. You are a long way from home and not sure if anyone will come to find you.
By its nature this is not a very portable game although there are online alternatives to wooden tower simulation though in general the game plays fast enough to be able to sit through a session within half an hour.
Im giving 5 hours to each game this month and if you want to see how far this Game can go follow in text below as I document the daily log of this Wretched Survivor
