Week One for Solo September

Week One : Ironsworn Starforged and a list of games

Day one We began Solo September , obviously on day one , with a link back to Ironsworn : Starforged which would form the basis of my Solo RPG experiences for this week; more on that in another post at a later date.

Day two and link to the game that will form much of Week 2 attention and Startrek Adventures : Captains log. Which takes the Solo RPG format and extends the Star Trek Adventures experience to create an experience far more akin to bottle episodes and narrative experiences. The book is detailed and delivers a wide range of Trek Lore and content enough to take you from The Original Series , Next Generation, Deep Space 9 and also Discovery. It's very well done and the only thing I feel is missing is a management tool for handling game sessions ; but maybe Stargazer has spoiled me in Starforge.

Day three and I shared a little more about Colostle which can best be described as both a YA Adventure and what if the burrowers but in a fantasy magic setting with a castle as a world.

Day four and Critical Kits award winning Solo RPG Be Like a Crow is mentioned and here we fly off into fantastic or urban adventures with a game system utilising maps, cards , and general narrative in which you make choices to survive as a fledgling until you take wing and fly.

Day five More of a table top skirmish system than an outright Solo RPG but with its narrative based lore and campaign driven experiences Joseph A Mcullough offering in Frostgrave is not his first journey into this sort of game but it is one that has caught imagination and talking points in many forums to be worthy of inclusion. This won't be the last time we see a mention of Joseph works

Day six and we head into the deepest of space and the darkest of horrors as a lone survivor on a damaged spaceship hurtling into the Abyss you control outcomes with Jenga towers and cards and narrative making your best moves to live long enough to get out and escape a grim demise in the lone blackness of The Wretched.

Day seven and here I dont really link to the game itself, because you can find many ways to purchase Warlock of FiretopMountain. However the day itself coincided with the Fighting Fantasy Fest 5 event and it was a great opportunity to go back to where it all began and the books that started my own narrative journeys.

If you want to see the games I have mentioned so far with links to where you can find out more then follow the published Google Doc sheet where im daily updating the links to Solo RPGs as part of the Solo September Plan .

As ever .. Thank you for reading.
