Week Three for Solo September

Week Three : Colostle

Nick Angel has written and illustrated a fabulously unusual world; one that exists as a world sized Castle creating exploration and discovery in narrative that can feel like The Borrowers meets Ghibli with somewhat off the wall ( sometimes literally ) creatures and locations that can inspire adventure and creativity.

Day fifteen Four Against Darkness From Ganesha Games, an excellent an light weight dungeon delving system in the spirit of many rogue games . the 90 page gamebook is sufficient to get you diving dungeons on your own for an evening.

Day sixteen 2D6 Dungeon I bumped into Toby Lancaster at Dragonmeet last year and discovered this excellent roll, draw, discover and dungeon delve . A great fanbase and an excellent solo dungeon experience

Day seventeen Escape Stalingrad Z Raybox games brings a tense open book tabletop campaign based game where your heroes navigate the end stages of WWII Stalingrad whilst Zombie nazis try to eat your brains. A confounding and pleasant puzzle for the sologamer

Day eighteen DELVE from Blackwell games Second most popular publisher on my list after Osprey is Blackwell Writer whose many solo RPG and journalling games are simple and deep just like Delve.

Day nineteen Space Station Zero : Snarling Badger Studios are dropping out these amazing almost zineesque table top skirmish systems that play well for single player but also are a complete narrative experience in progression and this is a fine example

Day twenty Umbra A Game of Final Frontiers . Umbra is the space based cousin to the fantasy explorations of Dive from Blackwellwriter games another wonderful exploration , economy , and risk tasking experience as you help a space colony survive !

Day twenty one Thousand Year Old Vampire . If ever there was a stealth solo journaling RPG that exists as both whisper, rumour , and awe its this one. It exists much like its named protagonist in that your chance of discovering it is rare but when you do !!

If you want to see the games I have mentioned so far with links to where you can find out more then follow the published Google Doc sheet where im daily updating the links to Solo RPGs as part of the Solo September Plan .

As ever .. Thank you for reading.
